WEM3046T & WEM3046TE Three-Phase Wi-Fi Energy Meters - IAMMETER

πŸ”§ WEM3046T: Flexible Solution for High-Current Measurement

WEM3046T is a three-phase Wi-Fi energy meter launched by IAMMETER in 2023, specifically designed for scenarios requiring high-current measurement (above 500A). Unlike the WEM3080T, WEM3046T does not come with built-in current transformers (CTs). Users can select and connect suitable 5A secondary output CTs according to their needs (e.g., 500:5A, 800:5A, 1000:5A, 2000:5A).

Key Features:

  • High Current Measurement Support: Connects with various 5A output CTs to meet diverse high-current measurement requirements.
  • Bi-directional Energy Monitoring: Measures energy imported from and exported to the grid, ideal for solar PV and other bi-directional energy systems.
  • Reactive Power & Energy Measurement: Supports measuring reactive power (kVar) and reactive energy (kVarh), crucial for industrial applications involving power factor management and reactive compensation. Learn more
  • Flexible Communication: Supports Wi-Fi, RS485 (Modbus RTU, Modbus/TCP) for easy integration.
  • Open API Interface: Integrates seamlessly with third-party platforms such as Home Assistant, openHAB, PVoutput for local or cloud-based data monitoring. More details
  • Easy Installation: DIN rail mounting, suitable for home, commercial, and industrial switchboards.

Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage Input: 80~277VAC (Phase voltage), 140~480VAC (Line voltage)
  • Measurement Accuracy: Β±1.0% for voltage, current, active power; Active energy conforms to IEC62053-21 Class 1
  • Operating Temperature: -20 to +60℃
  • Dimensions & Weight: 90.2Γ—71Γ—57.5mm, approximately 0.3kg
  • Power Consumption: ≀2W (220VAC input)

WEM3046T Wiring

When there are no existing CTs and meters installed, users can select appropriate 5A secondary output CTs based on measurement requirements and follow the wiring diagram below:

Important wiring notes:

  • Wi-Fi Antenna: Connect the external 2.4G Wi-Fi antenna to the SMA interface of the meter, ideally outside metal enclosures for optimal signal.
  • Voltage Input: Connect UA, UB, UC to phases A, B, C respectively, and UN to neutral.
  • Current Transformer Connection: Connect CT's S1 and S2 terminals to the corresponding inputs on the meter, ensuring correct orientation for accurate measurements.

If a "Utility Meter" with 5A standard output CTs already exists, you can connect the existing CTs in series to WEM3046T (if permitted by the client). This method uses one set of CTs for both local and WEM3046T meters, saving installation space.

Ensure client permission before altering existing CT wiring.

πŸ”„ WEM3046TE: Ideal for Dual-CT Installation

WEM3046TE is a variant of WEM3046T, specifically designed for scenarios where direct connection to existing main CTs isn't possible. It utilizes a "dual CT installation" approach, featuring external split-core CTs that can clip onto existing main CT cables, making it ideal when main CT replacement or direct connection is not feasible.

Standard Configuration:

  • Wi-Fi Energy Meter: 1 unit with integrated Wi-Fi module
  • Split-core Current Transformers: 3 units of 10mm, 5A CTs
  • 2.4G Wi-Fi Antenna: 1 unit

Application Scenarios:

  • Systems with existing main CTs that can't be altered or replaced
  • Situations requiring non-intrusive installation
  • Projects with limited installation space and requiring convenience

WEM3046TE Wiring

For sites with limited space and existing 5A output CTs that cannot accommodate additional CTs or wiring modifications, the WEM3046TE provides an excellent solution. It employs three compact 5A split-core CTs clipped onto the original CT leads. Ensure the correct direction (K->L), as illustrated below:
